Here's an interesting article from the Washington City Paper. Necessary reading for anyone considering renting a private residence in the Washington DC area during Inauguration Week.

Of the roughly 550 listings on inauguralhomes.com, a paid classified website devoted to Inauguration rentals, only 5 percent have been snatched up, according to the site’s co-founder, Kevin Diamond.

And other residents who posted their properties on Craigslist are finding the market weak.

Which Inaugural Parties Will The Obama's make an appearence?

The only (10) parties where Barack Obama, Joe Biden and their wives are guaranteed to appear, albeit for a quick wave and onstage dance. Six of the balls will be held at the glamorous, escalator-studded Washington Convention Center. The other four will be at the National Building Museum, Union Station, the Washington Hilton Hotel and the D.C. Armory.
